3 Days of Intense Training!
At our latest Lee Valley camp, we implemented a key structural change to improve the quality of development.
Players aged 5–8 were placed into a dedicated group, separate from the main programme.
This was a deliberate decision. Early-stage players require a different training environment — one that allows for a controlled pace, clear instruction, and a strong focus on fundamentals. By separating the group, we were able to deliver sessions that were technically precise, structured, and appropriate for their stage of development.
The effect was immediate.
Players were more engaged, more confident, and more responsive to coaching. With fewer distractions and a clearer framework, they were able to focus on execution, build correct habits, and make meaningful progress over a short period of time.
At the same time, the main group benefited from a higher tempo and increased intensity, allowing sessions to run at a level more suited to their ability.
This approach ensured that every player trained in the right environment — without compromise.
The result was clear, measurable progress across all groups over the three days.
